TAIZ — The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has successfully delivered clean water to over 3,000 residents in Taiz Governorate, Yemen, addressing urgent needs in one of the country’s most water-scarce regions.

The initiative, carried out this week, focused on communities suffering from prolonged water shortages due to ongoing conflict and deteriorating infrastructure. According to ICRC representatives, the project involved rehabilitating water systems and ensuring safe access to drinking water for families in remote and underserved areas.

“Access to clean water is a basic human right, and we are committed to helping vulnerable communities meet this essential need,” said an ICRC spokesperson in Taiz.

Local residents expressed relief and gratitude, noting that the water supply will ease daily hardships and improve hygiene and health conditions, especially for children and the elderly.

Taiz has been one of the hardest-hit areas in Yemen’s humanitarian crisis, with limited access to basic services. The ICRC continues to operate across the country, providing medical aid, food assistance, and support for displaced populations.
