Sana’a – The United Nations has announced a significant reduction in its humanitarian aid to Yemen for 2025 due to global funding shortages, putting millions of Yemenis at risk as they rely on this assistance for survival.

Relief organizations report that the UN initially requested $2.4 billion to support 10.5 million people in Yemen, but the revised budget now allocates only $1.4 billion, meaning aid will be limited to 8.8 million people instead of the originally planned figure.

This decision comes as Yemen faces an escalating humanitarian crisis, with unprecedented levels of food insecurity and shortages in essential services. 

The UN has urged the international community to increase efforts to bridge the funding gap and ensure the continuation of critical relief programs.
