Sana’a — The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced that it has registered more than two thousand new refugees and asylum seekers in Yemen during the current year.

According to the agency’s latest figures, a total of 2,350 individuals were documented between January and October 2025. 

The registrations reflect continued inflows of people seeking protection despite Yemen’s ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis.

UNHCR officials noted that Yemen remains both a transit and host country for refugees, particularly from the Horn of Africa, while also facing internal displacement due to the war. 
The agency emphasized the need for sustained international support to address the growing challenges of refugee protection and humanitarian assistance.
