EU Naval Force "Atalanta" Rescues Disabled Yemeni Vessel East of Gulf of Aden
Aden -- The European Union Naval Force "Atalanta," tasked with counter-piracy and maritime security, announced it had rescued a Yemeni vessel that suffered a mechanical failure east of the Gulf of Aden.
The ship reportedly experienced an engine breakdown during its voyage, leaving it vulnerable to both maritime hazards and piracy in one of the world’s most sensitive sea lanes.
According to the statement, Atalanta units swiftly provided technical assistance and secured the vessel before escorting it safely to shore.
The force stressed that the operation reflects its ongoing commitment to safeguarding navigation and protecting commercial and humanitarian shipping in the region.
