India Delivers Over 60 Tons of Medical Aid to Flood-Affected Communities in Yemen
Aden — The Government of India has dispatched more than 60 tons of medical assistance to Yemen, aimed at meeting urgent health needs in communities devastated by recent floods.
According to a statement shared by the spokesperson of the Indian Navy on his official account on platform X, the aid shipment includes critical medicines, surgical supplies, and emergency health kits.
The delivery underscores India’s commitment to humanitarian solidarity and rapid response in times of crisis.
Officials noted that the assistance is part of India’s broader effort to support Yemen’s fragile health system, which has been overwhelmed by the dual impact of conflict and natural disasters. The floods have displaced thousands of families, damaged infrastructure, and heightened the risk of waterborne diseases, making immediate medical support essential.
Humanitarian observers welcomed the move, highlighting that international cooperation remains vital to alleviating Yemen’s worsening humanitarian situation. “India’s timely intervention provides a lifeline to communities struggling with both disaster and instability,” one aid worker commented.
The shipment is expected to be distributed through government-controlled ports and health facilities, ensuring rapid access to the most affected populations.
