Sana'a -- Yemen’s Presidential Office has renewed warnings against fraudulent schemes carried out by individuals impersonating its leaders and staff to solicit money through phone numbers and WhatsApp messages.

In a statement issued this week, the Office of the Presidency of the internationally recognized government cautioned citizens and institutions to remain vigilant against such scams. 

It stressed that neither the Presidency nor its officials ever request financial transfers or personal payments through private communication channels.

The statement highlighted that fraudsters have recently intensified their attempts, using fake identities and messaging applications to deceive victims. 

Authorities urged the public to verify any suspicious communications and report them immediately to security agencies.

The Presidency reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens from exploitation and emphasized that official government correspondence is conducted only through recognized and secure channels. 

It also warned that legal measures will be taken against those found responsible for impersonation and fraud.
