Aden -- Yemen’s national football team delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, defeating Bhutan 7–1 in a Group B match of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. 

The match, held at Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah Stadium, showcased Yemen’s attacking prowess and marked one of their most decisive victories in recent years.

Yemen dominated both halves, scoring twice in the first half and adding five more goals in the second. 

Forward Nasser Mohammedoh was the standout player, netting a hat-trick and providing relentless pressure on Bhutan’s defense. Additional goals came from Harwan Al Zubaidi, Adel Abbas, Omar Al Golan, and Mohammed Hashem, who also contributed two assists.

Bhutan managed a lone consolation goal in the second half, but struggled to contain Yemen’s fluid offense and high pressing. 

The win boosts Yemen’s standing in Group B, bringing their tally to 8 points from 4 matches, with an unbeaten record of 2 wins and 2 draws.

This result places Yemen second in the group behind Lebanon, and strengthens their bid for qualification to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. 

The team’s recent form—marked by tactical discipline and attacking flair—has reignited hopes among fans and analysts for a strong tournament showing.

Coach Ahmed Al-Wajih praised his squad’s performance, highlighting their teamwork and resilience. “We played with heart and precision. This win reflects the hard work and unity of our players,” he said in a post-match statement.
