Yemen : Marib and Al-Jawf Appeals Prosecution Oversees Burial of 15 Unidentified Bodies
Marib – The Appeals Prosecution of Marib and Al-Jawf governorates has supervised the burial of 15 unidentified bodies, including three foreign nationals, in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Marib city.
The burial process was carried out in coordination with local authorities and health officials, following legal procedures and forensic documentation.
According to judicial sources, the bodies had been held for extended periods in Marib General Hospital’s morgue, pending identification and legal clearance. Despite efforts to determine their identities, the deceased remained unclaimed, prompting the prosecution to authorize their burial in accordance with public health and legal standards.
The inclusion of three foreign nationals among the unidentified remains has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding their deaths and presence in the region. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding their nationalities or causes of death.
The burial was conducted with respect to humanitarian protocols, and the prosecution affirmed its commitment to upholding legal procedures in cases involving unidentified or unclaimed bodies.
