MANAMA — Dr. Ali Hassan Al-Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Bahrain, met with Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, to discuss the resumption of direct flights between the two countries via Yemenia Airways.

During the meeting, held in Manama, both sides emphasized the importance of restoring air connectivity to facilitate travel for Yemeni residents, businesspeople, and humanitarian workers. 

Ambassador Al-Ahmadi highlighted the growing need for reliable transportation links, especially for Yemeni nationals residing in Bahrain and those seeking medical treatment or family reunification.

Minister Al Khalifa expressed Bahrain’s readiness to cooperate with Yemeni authorities to overcome logistical and regulatory hurdles. 

He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s supportive stance toward Yemen and its people, noting that restoring flights would enhance bilateral ties and contribute to regional stability.

The officials also discussed broader cooperation in the fields of transportation and telecommunications, with a shared commitment to improving infrastructure and service delivery. The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Yemen and Bahrain.

Yemenia Airways suspended its flights to Bahrain in recent years due to security and operational challenges. 

The proposed resumption is expected to ease travel burdens and support humanitarian coordination between the two nations.
