Yemen : Houthis Vow to Continue 'Support Battle' Until End of Aggression and Siege on Gaza
Sana'a — Houthi Militia has reiterated its determination to sustain its military campaign in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza.
In a televised address, Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi declared that the group’s operations—targeting Israeli-linked maritime routes and launching drones and missiles—will persist as part of what they term the “Support Battle” (Ma’rakat al-Isnad).
“Our armed forces will not cease their operations until the aggression against Gaza stops and the unjust siege is completely lifted,” al-Houthi stated. He emphasized that the campaign is a moral and religious duty, aligning with the broader goals of the so-called “Axis of Resistance,” which includes Iran-backed groups across the region.
The Houthis have intensified their attacks in recent months, targeting vessels in the Red Sea and launching long-range missiles toward Israeli territory.
While many of these attacks have been intercepted or caused limited damage, they have heightened tensions in the region and drawn international concern over maritime security.
The group’s actions have prompted retaliatory strikes from both the United States and Israel, as part of broader efforts to deter further escalation. However, the Houthis remain resolute, with al-Houthi warning of “greater operations” if the conflict in Gaza continues unabated.
As diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza continue, the Houthis’ stance signals that any resolution will require addressing not only the immediate conflict but also the wider geopolitical alliances and grievances fueling it.
