The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Councilannounced today, Saturday, the appointment of Saleh Bin Salem Bin Breik as the country’s new prime minister, succeeding Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, who officially submitted his resignation earlier today amid escalating political tensions within the internationally recognized government.  

Bin Mubarak’s resignation followed a memorandum signed by 18 ministers, calling for his removal amid mounting political pressure and divisions within the government. In his resignation statement, Bin Mubarak cited challenges that prevented him from exercising his constitutional powers and implementing the necessary governmental reforms, leading him to step down.  

In light of these developments, Saleh Bin Breik has been appointed as the new prime minister. Previously serving as Minister of Finance, he has extensive experience in financial management and government oversight, having held key positions such as President of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing and Minister of Finance.  

Bin Breik now faces significant challenges in the coming period, including managing the deteriorating economic conditions and attempting to contain the political divisions that led to his predecessor’s departure. The Yemeni public eagerly awaits to see whether the new government will succeed in achieving political and economic stability amid the country’s ongoing turmoil.
