Al-Alimi to Meet Saudi Defense Minister Over Hadramout and Al-Mahra Developments
Riyadh – A senior official in Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council said that Council President Rashad Al-Alimi is expected to meet either Tuesday evening or Wednesday with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman to discuss developments in Hadramout and Al-Mahra governorates in eastern Yemen.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, noted that “the situation in Hadramout and Al-Mahra remains complex, with all options open.”
Since arriving in Riyadh on Friday, December 12, from Aden, Al-Alimi has been holding consultations with regional and international actors on the latest national developments, with a particular focus on the rapidly evolving situation in the eastern governorates.
