STC Spokesman: Moves in Hadramout and Al-Mahra Align with Yemen’s Legitimacy
Aden – Anwar Al-Tamimi, spokesman for the Southern Transitional Council (STC), stated that the council’s recent deployments toward Hadramout and Al-Mahra governorates were carried out in line with signed agreements and within the framework of Yemen’s legitimacy.
Al-Tamimi emphasized that the STC’s presence in Hadramout aims to curb arms smuggling to the Houthi group, stressing that the council’s activities in both Hadramout and Al-Mahra serve the interests of the Yemeni state.
Tensions have escalated in recent weeks between the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, the Hadrami Elite Forces, and other local security units, following the deployment of STC forces from outside the governorate into positions previously managed by local troops.
