Yemen : Military Checkpoints Obstruct November 30 Celebrations in Seiyun
Seiyun -- Local reports from Yemen’s Hadramawt governorate indicate that military checkpoints belonging to the First Military Region, under the control of the Islah Party, disrupted November 30 Independence Day celebrations in Seiyun.
According to eyewitnesses, the checkpoints stopped hundreds of buses carrying thousands of participants traveling from Hadramawt’s coastal areas to attend the commemorations.
The detentions caused significant delays and prevented large numbers of citizens from reaching the venue, sparking widespread frustration among attendees and organizers.
The incident has drawn criticism from civil society groups, who argue that such measures undermine the right of citizens to freely participate in national events.
