U.S. Denounces Houthi Execution Orders Targeting UN Employees in Yemen
Riyadh -- The U.S. Embassy to Yemen has strongly condemned a recent decision by Houthi authorities to execute 21 Yemeni citizens working with the United Nations and other international organizations, describing the move as arbitrary and unjust.
In a statement issued todayt , the embassy denounced the ruling as a blatant violation of human rights and international law. It stressed that targeting humanitarian and development workers undermines efforts to deliver aid and support to millions of Yemenis suffering from the ongoing conflict.
The embassy called on the Houthis to immediately revoke the execution orders and release all arbitrarily detained individuals. It also urged the international community to stand united against such abuses and to protect the rights of Yemeni citizens engaged in humanitarian service.
