Yemeni PLC President Concludes Cairo Visit, Praises Egypt’s Civilizational Role and Arab Solidarity
Cairo — President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, concluded a multi-day official visit to Cairo, where he participated in the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum and held high-level talks with Egyptian officials.
The visit came at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reflecting the depth of bilateral ties and shared regional priorities.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), President Al-Alimi expressed profound appreciation for Egypt’s historic and cultural leadership, describing the Grand Egyptian Museum as a “global symbol of civilization and progress.” He commended Egypt’s urban and developmental achievements, highlighting its role in promoting cultural diplomacy and regional stability.
During his meetings, Al-Alimi praised Egypt’s steadfast support for Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and peace efforts, as well as its humanitarian assistance to Yemeni nationals residing in Egypt. He noted Egypt’s contributions in education, healthcare, and accommodation, which have helped ease the burden on displaced Yemenis amid ongoing conflict.
The visit also included discussions on Arab solidarity, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to joint action on regional challenges, including the Palestinian cause, Red Sea security, and counterterrorism cooperation. President Al-Alimi emphasized the importance of Egypt’s voice in supporting Arab causes and fostering diplomatic solutions to regional crises.
President Al-Alimi departed Cairo on Friday, thanking the Egyptian leadership and people for their warm reception and generous hospitality, and expressing hope for continued cooperation in service of Arab unity and regional peace.
