Houthis Warn Israel of “Complex Battle” if Yemen Is Targeted Following Netanyahu’s Threats
Sana’a – Yemen’s Houthi milita has issued a stern warning to Israel, vowing a “complex and painful battle” if Tel Aviv carries out any military aggression against Yemeni territory.
The statement came in response to recent remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who pledged to take “all necessary measures” to eliminate what he described as the “Houthi threat to Israel.”
Houthi spokespersons and senior officials declared that any Israeli attack would be met with a full-scale response, stressing that Yemen’s strategic capabilities and alliances would make the confrontation unpredictable and costly. “If Israel dares to strike Yemen, it will find itself in a battle it cannot control,” said Tofiq al-Hamiri, a senior adviser to the Houthi leadership.
Netanyahu’s comments followed Israeli airstrikes on sites in Sana’a allegedly linked to Iranian-backed militant activity. He stated that Israel was acting not only in self-defense but “on behalf of the entire world” to neutralize threats from the last remaining Iranian proxy in the region.
Human rights groups have also voiced alarm over the humanitarian consequences of further military escalation, warning that any new confrontation could deepen Yemen’s already dire crisis.
