Israeli Airstrikes Hit Yemen’s Hodeidah Port
Hodeidah – Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah port Tuesday evening, hours after the Israeli military issued an urgent evacuation order, citing alleged Houthi military activity originating from the site.
IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that the strikes were “a direct response to terrorist operations conducted by the Houthi militia from within the port,” warning that “anyone remaining in the area is putting their life at risk.”
The attack coincides with an ongoing Israeli ground offensive in Gaza, raising concerns about a broader regional escalation.
Hodeidah port is a critical lifeline for humanitarian aid entering Yemen. Its targeting threatens to worsen an already dire humanitarian crisis in a country grappling with widespread poverty and conflict.
