In a meeting held in Riyadh, the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council reiterated their opposition to any actions that may lead to an escalation of the conflict in Yemen. This stance was expressed during discussions with the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council.

The Acting Ambassador of Russia to Yemen, Evgeny Kodrov, emphasized that all participants in the meeting underscored the importance of making further effective efforts to resume the political settlement in Yemen, taking into account the positions of all parties involved in the conflict in order to expedite the negotiation process.

Kodrov also noted that all meeting participants unanimously agreed on rejecting any steps that could lead to a new round of conflict escalation in Yemen and its surrounding areas. These statements come at a time when Yemen is experiencing increasing tensions and escalating hostilities between the warring parties.

It is worth mentioning that the five permanent members of the UN Security Council are China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. These countries hold the power of veto, which allows them to block the adoption of any resolution within the council regardless of international support for the resolution.
