EU , Saudi Ambassadors Discuss Peace Efforts in Yemen and Red Sea Developments
Riyadh — The Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber, met with the European Union’s Ambassador to Yemen, Gabriel Munuera Viñals, to discuss ongoing peace initiatives in Yemen and the latest developments in the Red Sea region.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the humanitarian challenges facing Yemen and explored ways to enhance joint support to alleviate the suffering of civilians. They also addressed the escalation in the Red Sea, stressing the importance of safeguarding maritime security and ensuring regional stability.
Ambassador Al Jaber reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to peace, stability, and development in Yemen, highlighting the Kingdom’s political, economic, humanitarian, and reconstruction efforts. He praised the EU’s active role in supporting dialogue and backing the United Nations Special Envoy’s mission to reach a comprehensive political solution.
The EU Ambassador emphasized the bloc’s readiness to continue working closely with Saudi Arabia and other partners to advance peace talks, reduce tensions, and protect international navigation in one of the world’s most strategic waterways.
This diplomatic engagement reflects growing international momentum to push for a sustainable peace process in Yemen while addressing broader security challenges in the Red Sea.
