Gulf-European Joint Statement Stresses Urgent Economic and Humanitarian Support for Yemen
Aden – In a joint communiqué issued today, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the European Union reaffirmed their shared commitment to supporting Yemen’s stability through enhanced economic, developmental, and humanitarian assistance.
The statement, released following high-level consultations in Brussels, emphasized the importance of coordinated international efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and to promote long-term recovery and resilience. Both sides called for increased funding for humanitarian operations, investment in infrastructure and public services, and support for inclusive economic growth across Yemen.
The Gulf-European partners also reiterated their backing for a comprehensive political solution to the conflict, underscoring the need to preserve Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The statement welcomed recent diplomatic initiatives and stressed the role of regional and international actors in facilitating dialogue and reconstruction.
This renewed pledge comes amid growing concerns over the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where millions remain in need of urgent aid and economic opportunities.
